What are the potential hazards of high hydraulic oil temperature? How do we solve it?
Time:2024-08-15
This section is mainly aimed at users who use other devices or vehicle mounted hydraulic systems to drive handheld hydraulic equipment, because the oil temperature of the vehicle mounted hydraulic system usually reaches 90 ℃, and if the temperature exceeds 42 ℃, human skin will be burned. So, we require that the oil temperature in the hydraulic system must be below 42 ℃.
To control the oil temperature, we require that the hydraulic system must have a cooling device under all working conditions except for short-term or underwater operations. If you need to configure the hydraulic system yourself, we recommend that you refer to the following:
Measures for hydraulic oil heat dissipation:
Do not rely solely on a large oil tank to solve the problem of heat dissipation. Even in a well ventilated environment, relying solely on a large area of oil tank cannot solve the problem of rapid hydraulic oil temperature rise;
Do not set the safety valve pressure value of the hydraulic system too low, especially for systems using hydraulic picks and other tools. The peak pressure pulse of these tool systems can reach 3500 PSI. If the safety valve is frequently opened due to this, it will cause the oil temperature to rise rapidly;
The hydraulic flow rate of the hydraulic system supply tool should not exceed the technical requirements too much, as excessive flow can also lead to high oil temperature. Suggest using a gear pump with a flow rate close to the technical standards;
Do not choose hydraulic oil with high viscosity, as it can also cause the system oil temperature to be too high;
The hydraulic oil returning from the control valve or working circuit should not directly enter the oil tank, but should first pass through the filter element and radiator.
